María Lara es maquilladora, artista multidisciplinar e investigadora, en ese orden. Su investigación gira en torno a entender el maquillaje como medio para descubrir las dimensiones materiales y sociales que este alcanza. En 2021 finalizó sus estudios de maquillaje y caracterización y cuatro años más tarde, el Grado en Bellas Artes. Debido a su interés por continuar dialogando con la teoría y la práctica, en 2024/25 cursó el Máster en Investigacion en Arte y Creación en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Based in Spain, María Lara is a makeup artist, multidisciplinary creative and art researcher, in that order. Her work is situated at the intersection of artistic exploration and theoretical practice. She approaches makeup as a material and cultural technology and as a means to interrogate social relations, bodies and systems of representation. She trained in Makeup Artistry and Characterisation in 2021 before completing a BA in Fine Arts four years later. Commited to expand the dialogue between theoretical reflection and production, she undertook the Master´s Degree in Art Research and Creation at the Complutense University of Madrid during the 2024/25 academic year.
